Hearing Lens developed

The hearing contact lens is suitable for people with mild to moderate hearing loss (about 85 percent of all hearing impaired people). Traditional hearing aids often struggle with poor transmission characteristics of the air column in the ear canal, resulting in feedback and distortion effects. The hearing contact lens, on the other hand, integrates the microphone, sound processor and rechargeable micro battery directly. The hearing aid always stays in the ear, no battery change is required.

Clinical trials of the hearing contact lens will begin soon. The CE marking, which is mandatory for medical devices, is expected by the developers in the middle of 2020. Market entry in Germany could then take place in 2021, other countries will follow.
