Number of cosmetic surgeries on the rise (Germany)
| The number of cosmetic operations and aesthetic interventions rose by a good nine percent last year, according to a doctor survey conducted by the Association of German Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (VDÄPC). | |
| Men: The number of surgical interventions among men doubled. These include things such as upper eyelid lifting, liposuction, nose correction, face lifting, abdominal and thigh lifting.
Woman: Breast operations in women also account for a large proportion of the increase. Often it is not a question of larger breasts, but a different form, it was said. Women also undergo wrinkle treatment more often. Lip corrections are at the top of the list, especially among the younger ones – based on models from the Internet and social media. Young People: Breast augmentation, lip augmentation and lateral lifting of the eyebrows are the most popular procedures for young people. A problem is a growing number of corrective interventions becoming necessary in previous operations. |
