German insurance companies enter into a framework agreement for quality assurance of knee and hip prostheses

With a new framework quality agreement, one insurance association (vdek) and the Clinotel hospital association want to improve the supply of knee and hip prostheses. The aim is to achieve greater patient safety, higher quality and lower costs.
Clinotel clinics that have sufficient experience with knee or hip prostheses (minimum: 50 operations per year each) and do not show any abnormalities in quality control by the Institute for Quality Assurance and Transparency in Health Care (IQTIG) can join the new contract. The contract initially runs for three years. The results will be evaluated by IQTIG.
