GMN

The Global Model Number (GMN) is the GS1 identification key that identifies the model of a product from which the trading unit is derived.

For models of medical devices, the short title “GMN” must be replaced by “Basis UDI-DI” or “BUDI-DI”.

In the EU healthcare sector subject to regulatory approval, the Base UDI-DI (BUDI-DI) serves as a key element to enable the connection of the different modules of the European Database for Medical Devices (EUDAMED).
