Continuous glucose monitors (CGM) measure the body’s glucose levels in real-time. Usually it measures in certain time intervalls, like 5 minutes. They are helpful to find the range of glucose (sugar) levels within the blood, the dependance of food or daily behaviour. Important: They can sound an alert when the glucose level leaves a given range.

A CGM-System usually has three components:
– sensor (inserted usually by the patient under the skin like an implant)
– transmitter
– smartphone app or receiver
