How do I prepare for a dental implant procedure?

If the treatment will take place under local anesthesia

• A normal diet, just as you normally would. Consider that after the procedure food intake may be difficult.
• Good oral hygiene, brush teeth beforehand and rinse well.
• No makeup.
• Prepare at home:
  • cool bag
  • soft nutritious food for the time afterwards
  • disinfectant rinsing solution for the period from the third day after implantation until suture removal.
• Check beforehand if an escort is necessary.
• Prepare for the return home (transportation, cab).

If the treatment will take place under general anesthesia

• Have I been examined to see if I am able for general anesthesia. If necessary, get a certificate and give it to the practice days before the implantation.
• No food intake for 8 hours before the treatment. You can drink a little water.
• Good oral hygiene, brush teeth beforehand and rinse well.
• No make-up.
• Prepare at home: Cooling bag, soft nutritious food for the time after, disinfecting rinsing solution for the time from the third day after implantation until suture removal.
• Bring a person with you.
• Prepare for the return home (transport, cab)
